Finding Beauty in Unexpected Places, Day 19: Relying on the Insights of Others

Yup, I'm behind. I hit a particuarly rough grading patch (largely of my own doing), and I haven't had time to do much else this week.

Honestly, I'm still a little fried. I'm sitting on a panel this afternoon and performing in a readers' theatre tonight, and composing four blog enteries is a little overwhelming right now. So, I'm going to turn to other, much smarter, individuals for some of their insights on beauty...

The first comes from Johann Wolfgan von Goethe, and sums up what I'm starting to discover.

A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.
