A Soundscape of Our Mornings

For those of you that don't know, they built a church behind us. The siding job on this church is poorly done. It's bubbling, and it seems like with every storm there is another piece of siding flapping in the wind. There's been one particular piece that bangs against the building in the slightest breeze. It's annoying.

The other morning, Ben and I were waking up, and we started talking.

ANN. They were doing something with that mud fence behind us yesterday.

BEN. I don't suppose they did anything about that piece of siding?

*BANG, BANG, BANG*

ANN. Nope.

*BANG, BANG, BANG*

*THE SOUND OF SULLY BARKING; HIS TAGS JINGLE AS HE RUNS UP STAIRS. HE STOPS AT THE LANDING OF THE FRONT DOOR AND BARKS MORE.*

BEN. What's he barking at? Is this because he wants to eat breakfast?

*BANG, BANG, BANG*

ANN. He hears the siding and is investigating. He should be in here to see about breakfast in five...four...three...

*SOUND OF TAGS JINGLING*

ANN. Two...on--

*THUMP!*

*SULLY LANDS BETWEEN US ON THE BED.*

BEN. Hello, Puppy.
